Gyrinocheilus aymonieri
The Golden Algae Eater, or Gyrinocheilus aymonieri is a wonderful algae eating freshwater fish native to Southeast Asia. The Golden Algae Eater fish we sell grow up to 4 inches max in a large tank and smaller in others. We ship them at about 1.5 inches at time of shipment. These fish are excellent cleaners of algae from tank glass & wood.
In addition to eating algae from glass, they will consume algae found on driftwood, rocks and plants. You only need 1 Golden Algae Eater per 20 gallons of water. Not all fish are suitable tank mates with the Golden Algae Eater.
