Ayam Cemani Hatching Eggs
Ayam Cemani fertile hatching eggs
We have a pure black flock, tongue, beak, comb, meat, everything. “Loki” is our prized proven Rooster and he is with 2 proven young hens from a different bloodline so we have a nice wide genepool here!
We have had a hatch rate of about 80% so far in 2022. Our photos are NOT photshopped, thats right from my phone to the website, untouched. We pick these birds up and kiss them and love them. They are raised with pheasants. Do excellent together with other gamebirds, poultry, very chill, calm birds. Peaceful personality with looks of Death. sweet as can be!
No. The Ayam Cemani eggs are NOT not black. Erroneously, there are pictures all over Google that are terribly wrong depicting their eggs as solid black or solid dark blue. The Ayam Cemani actually lay a cream-colored egg with a slight pink hue. Pictured here are some of our own bird’s eggs on a pure white piece of paper. This is the typical color and size. A little smaller sized chicken egg, larger than a bantam egg, but smaller than a white leghorn egg. The birds themselves are decent sized, perhaps comparable to a Maran, but smaller than an Orphington. Chicks may hatch all black, or all black with 2 small white down feathers on wingtips that disappear as they feather out.
Farm note: The only bird we’ve ever owned that laid a truly black egg was a young Cayuga duck hen whose eggs were indeed black initially, but as the laying season progressed, she started laying eggs that were more gray to light gray.
Poultry hatching eggs. These eggs have NOT been washed so the protective coating is still there. Our chicken eggs are carefully packaged to help ensure they don’t crack during shipping. Please be patient when ordering eggs, we will personally collect your eggs the same week we ship your order. Ship days usually on Tues or Wed only.,
We do not guarantee hatch rates with any of our eggs. We will do our best to securely package them.
We recommend you set them on their sides, not points down.
The eggs will hatch in 21 days, laying flat and no rotation on day 18-19.
Temp & humidity inside the incubator are critical factors for successfully hatching eggs.
Suggested guidelines are as follows:
Optimum temperature: 100.5 degrees F
Temperature range: 99-102 degrees F
Don’t let temperature drop below 99 degrees F
Do not allow temps of 102 degrees F to last more than a few hours
Relative humidity, day 1-17: 50-55 percent
Equivalent to a wet bulb temperature of 85-87 degrees Fahrenheit
Keep water channels in the incubator full to facilitate proper humidity
Relative humidity, day 18-21: On day 18, raise the relative humidity to 70 percent
Only open the incubator when necessary – doing so can let heat and humidity escape and can affect the success of the hatch.
Increase ventilation as embryos grow bigger, especially from days 18-21.
Keep in mind these are recommendations for hatching chicken eggs. If you are hatching eggs of other species, the specifications and incubation times will be different, so you will need to research those requirements and adjust your incubator accordingly. For that reason, it is not advised to incubate eggs from different species in the same incubator at the same time.

Tips for getting better hatching results!
Do not wash your eggs, do not rinse them, do not take a wet towel to them! You’ll wash off a special natural bacteria coating that protects the egg from perishing so quickly. (Why is the US the only country that washes chicken eggs for eating, when it only speeds up the perishability process? Remember egg washing is not recommended because Salmonella can move into the inside of the egg through pores in the shell, increasing the risk to consumers. Never wash an egg that is intended for incubation.
Broody hen at your home? Old English and other Bantam chickens are excellent for hatching your gamebird eggs naturally! If you’ve got one that wants to be a momma, you let her sit on your gamebird eggs for you!
When you get delivery, slowly and carefully unpack your eggs and place them in a egg tray or carton and place them points down 24 hours to let them rest from their trip and allow temp of egg to adjust to room temp. You don’t want to put a cold egg in the incubator. These tips will help a lot w hatching, friends!
Prices are always PER egg.
