Mastacembelus favus
Mastacembelus favus, commonly known as the Tire Track Eel, is a large species of spiny eel (not a true eel) native to Southeast Asian freshwaters. Popular in the aquarium hobby for its distinctive patterned, maze-like markings, it is a nocturnal, bottom-dwelling predator known for being a “ghost fish” that burrows in substrate during the day.
