Macaw Nicaragua Cichlid Freshwater Aquarium Fish
Native to Costa Rica and other parts of Central America, The Nicaragua Cichlid (Hypsophrys nicaraguensis) can grow up to 9 inches in length.
This is a fish that gets along remarkably well with others, as they’re known to be non-aggressive in a community living environment. They enjoy having small alcoves and cover to nestle among, and a sandy bottom layer to the aquarium they’re kept in. This species is omnivorous, consuming small snails as well as foliage and detritus on the bottom.
