The Red Sunset Swordtail is an exquisite color morph of the popular Swordtails. This is another highly sought-after variation of the Xiphophorus helleri that boasts a breathtaking, saturated red coloration. The male has short, sleek fins with a distinct extension on the lower part of the tail, resembling a sword. Even though the female does not have the distinguishing sword-like tail, her deep red coloration makes her breathtaking as well. The Red Sunset Swordtail is an omnivore that will eat commercially prepared flaked foods, freeze dried bloodworms, tubifex, brine shrimp as well as algae. They will grow to be a miximum of 4”, require a temperature of 64-82 F, a KH of 12-30, and a pH of 7-8.3.
