As with all plants in the Taro family, the Metallic Taro (Alocasia plumbea metallica) is an aquatic based plant with large, elephant ear shaped leaves. It typically grows to a height of 2-3 feet in a natural environment.
What distinguishes the Metallic Taro from other Taro variations is the deep green, shiny metallic looking coloring to the leaf. This is a hardy plant and can survive in many climate types down to 10 degrees F as long as there is enough water presence. Best for pond and bog environments.
