Stiphodon pelewensis, commonly known as the Palauan Riffle Dwarf Goby or Palauan Goby, is a small, peaceful freshwater fish popular for algae control in nano and community aquariums. Native to fast-flowing, clear streams in Palau and Micronesia, they are specialized algae and biofilm grazers.
Size: Palauan Riffle Dwarf Goby are small, reaching only 1.6 to 1.8 inches
Tank Size: A minimum of 5 gallons is suitable for a pair, but 30+ gallons is recommended for a group.
Temperament: Very peaceful
Water Parameters: Temp of 72° – 82°F
pH of 6.5–8.0, and high oxygenation.Flow: They thrive in high-flow environments (10-15x turnover per hour)
Diet and Feeding Grazer: They primarily eat algae and biofilm from rocks and plants dont be too concerned about supplemental feeding in a well established planted tank.
