Satanoperca jurupari
aka the Demon Eartheater, is a species of cichlid endemic to the Amazon basin in South America.
The Geophagus Jurupari Cichlid is a tropical fish with origins in South America. Having the ability to grow up to 10” in the wild, these fish usually top off at around 8” in aquarium conditions.
They prefer water temperature of 77 – 84°F, with a pH of 6.2 – 7.5, and a dH of 8
As an omnivore, these fish will eat a wide variety of food. They are generally peaceful but may eat other small fish if given the opportunity. These fish will be happy in tanks that are well maintained with bogwood, branches, and plants.
