This species prefers some aquarium salt or Marine Salt in the water and may also be acclimated slowly into a fully saltwater aquarium as they get older. Colombian Sharks can live in both freshwater and saltwater during different times of their life.

The Colombian Shark has a unique appearance with an elongated silver body and white belly. This fish has three sets of barbels and the females are noticeably plumper than the males. The diet of the Colombian Shark consists of New Life Spectrum’s Community and Surface Floater Formula found at Fish Foods.
