Not many people will want to go to the effort to harvest crypt seeds. Crypts don’t like floating in a tank unplanted and in some cases just moving them to another tank with different lighting and water conditions will make their leaves wither and even disintegrate over time! Please be careful. Plant the root base and be patient..over time, crypts will usually re-grow.
AZ Gardens reccomends to avoid plant eaters such as hatchetfish, silver dollars & most large plecos. Small amounts of fertilizer work better than big dosings. Their roots and rhizomes grow right below the surface and spread widely. Gravel vacuum cleaners will disturb them and possibly interrupt the growing process.
