Description
Thorichthys meeki
The Firemouth Meeki Cichlid has an omnivore diet and will eat most prepared or frozen foods.
Feeding options include, but not limited to, freeze-dried bloodworms, ocean plankton, and flake food/Cichlid pellets. They have a turquoise-blue body with red edging and black marks throughout the body.
The females tend to be less brightly colored. The Cichlids should be placed in a tank of at least 30 gallons consisting of a sandy bottom with plenty of swimming room. Rocks can also be put into the tank as the fish like to hide among the rocks and roots.
The Firemouth Meeki Cichlids raise several broods within a year.
