The Gold Zebra Loach or Golden Zebra Loach, is a freshwater fish species known for its vibrant golden-yellow stripes and active, engaging behavior in an aquarium. They are generally peaceful and suitable for community tanks with similar-sized, non-aggressive fish. Gold Zebra Loaches typically reach a maximum size of 4 inches (10 cm), but there are reports of some 5″ specimens at some larger exhibits.
Golden Zebra Loaches have a distinct look with bold golden-yellow stripes against a darker background. They are also known for their playful personalities. They are native to the fast-flowing rivers of South Asia. They are social loaches and thrive in small groups, showing interesting social interactions. They are also active bottom-dwellers, often seen scavenging the substrate.
They prefer soft, slightly acidic water with plenty of hiding places. They are omnivorous and enjoy a varied diet of sinking pellets, live foods, and occasional vegetables.
