Neon Gold Variatus Live-bearer
The lovely Neon Gold Variatus are one of the farm-raised color morphs of the wild type originally found in southern Mexico. The Neon Gold Variatus has an bright yellow to dark golden body. Colors can be very different with this hybrid but always sure to please like all other livebearing fish. The Variatus is generally more elongated than its close cousin the Platy. The Variatus will prefer a densely planted tank and can be kept in pairs or groups. As an herbivore, plant based foods should be part of their diet, though they will eat most all prepared foods for the aquarium or ponds.
