The Black Harlequin Rasbora is a fabulous color variant of this very hearty schooling fish with a wide black roughly triangular mark that covers the rear half of the body like the natural Harlequin Rasbora. Its body is a darker purple rather than the pinkish-red of the natural fish.
These fish are rather dwarf and are ideal for smaller tanks such as Nano or Fluval Edge but also when stocked in massive schools in larger tanks they can make quite a statement. Their pleasant temperaments and schooling behaviors make them popular in the aquarium hobby. They can grow anywhere from a few centimeters to a few inches and add movement to your freshwater fish tank. These fish are very easy to care for. Most people dont know this but Rasboras are actually small members of the carp family! These fish prefer aquariums with plenty plants and decorations n to explore.
Feed small pellet or flake foods with occasional feedings of meaty freeze dried treats such as bloodworms, plankton, or brine shrimp. They prefer to be kept in groups of no less than six to school and feel more secure.
