Black Moor Goldfish
aka: Black Peony Goldfish, Carassius auratus auratus, Dragon Eye Goldfish
The Black Moor is a telescoped eyed type of goldfish that is most recognized for having their eyes protruding from the sides of their heads in a more pronounced fashion than typical goldfish varieties.
The Black Moor goldfish is a popular, hardy, and distinctively charming “fancy” goldfish known for its deep, velvety black color and protruding telescope eyes. They have rounded, egg-shaped bodies, typically grow 6–8 inches long, and live 10–15+ years. Due to poor eyesight, they are slow swimmers that prefer calm tank mates.
