Trichogaster lalius, commonly known as the Wild Dwarf Gourami, is a popular, brightly colored freshwater fish native to South Asia (India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh). Belonging to the family of labyrinth fish (Anabantoids), they possess a specialized organ that allows them to breathe atmospheric oxygen directly from the water’s surface.

Dwarf Gourami Wild is the original Dwarf Gourami that is an omnivore Labyrinth Fish like a Betta, so it must have access to the surface of your aquarium to breathe. This is also a bubble nest builder. One of the best gouramis for a general community aquarium, attractively colored, not growing too large, and tolerant of a wide range of conditions and companions.

The male is by far the more brightly coloured, but in breeding condition he often turns so dark that his normal markings disappear.
