Description
Balloon Ram cichlids are a selectively bred, ornamental strain of the German Blue Ram (Mikrogeophagus ramirezi) known for their robust, tall body shape and vibrant coloration, making them a popular choice for planted and community aquariums.
Similar coloration to wild-type German blue rams, but with a more robust and tall body shape!
Behavior: While they are cichlids, they are generally very peaceful, with the exception of territoriality during spawning.
All Dwarf Ram cichlids are easy to upkeep, which make them the ideal first fish! They are a great addition to almost any aquarium because they are exceedingly peaceful.
As a miniature carnivore, their diet is easy to follow because they are not very picky. They thrive in softer waters, but can be adapt other water types, if needed. Rams enjoy sifting through sandy tank floors over aquarium rocks.
Creating a colony will keep these dwarf fish happier, especially for breeding. They need potential candidates to choose as a mate because not all will like each other.
