Spotted Silver Dollars
Metynnis maculatus, commonly known as the spotted silver dollar, this is a peaceful, disc-shaped freshwater schooling fish from South America belonging to the same family as piranhas and pacus. Looking very much like Piranha but nope, these are just peaceful herbivores that prefer to eat green foods just toss in some sliced zucchini couple times a week and allow them to dine on that.

Size: Up to about 18 cm (7 inches)

Tank Setup: Use a soft sand or fine gravel substrate with open swimming areas, driftwood, Live plants like Java Ferns and Anubias will withstand picking. but these are primarily herbivorous. Feed them vegetables like spinach, shelled peas, and zucchini, alongside quality spirulina flakes.

This is a Schooling fish that must be kept in groups of at least 5 to 8 individuals (ideally more) to prevent them from becoming skittish. They are peaceful with other large, non-aggressive community fish, though they may eat very tiny fish or small shrimp
