Description
Rhombo Snakeskin Barb
aka Orange Buffalo Barb.
This is a very elaborate version of its cousin that we know so well, the Tiger Barb. This fish should be kept in schools of at least 6, and you will quickly find these fish are more aloof than aggressive, meaning they will fare well with most other fish in your aquarium. They are cyrious fish that will enjoy swimming in larger schools in even highly lit aquaria.
At most, they grow to be about 2’’, and their appearance is an orange-red color, with a body that includes green splotches, which of course gives it its snakeskin designation.
Please note, these fish prefer soft, acidic aquarium water to breed, and they will like to be in shaded planted areas when it is time to spawn. Most often, they swim in the mid-level of the aquarium.
