The African Blue-barred Barb is a peaceful, striking freshwater nano fish native to the slow-moving, heavily vegetated river systems of Central and Southern Africa. Also widely known as the African banded barb or Angola barb, it stands out in the hobby due to its metallic golden-red body highlighted by 9 to 15 narrow vertical blue-black bars.
This is a ray-finned fish species in the family Cyprinidae. It is found mainly in Angola and Zambia, extending into neighboring Botswana, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Namibia and ZimbabweBarb species. Great splash of color in cichlid tanks or just in your community tank. GREAT PEACEFUL FISH CHOICE!!!!

Keep lighting dim and water flow gentle, as strong current stresses them.
