Description
The Pearl Gourami, also known as Trichogaster leeri, is a perfect fish for the beginning hobbyist. The males of these species are quite colorful and have pointed dorsal fins, while females are blandly colored with a pearl pattern throughout.
The best living space for these fish will be in a dark tank covered in floating plants with plants built up around the edges as well. Each fish should be able to have it’s own hiding place, and should not be housed with any aggressive fish. They have a lifespan of about 8 years.
- Compatible Fish: Danios, Trichogaster, Corydoras, Botia, Angelfish, Barbs, Livebearers that can tolerate neutral water conditions.
