Red Racer Nerite Snail
Vittina waigiensis

native to: Phillipines

Each one looks almost like it was painted by hand! Contrast looks awesome against Green plants!

The Red Racer Nerite Snail is one of the rarest nerite snails you will find! It certainly has insanely gorgeous patterns and colors! Red Nerite shells have a truly striking and beautiful but is also still relatively rare. The amount of red varies on these shells from nearly fully red to orange and yellow with red stripes. These attractive snails definitely draw your eyes directly to them in your tank, but they also serve some very useful purposes, as all Nerite Snails do!

They clean algae off of glass, plants, rocks, wood, heaters, equipment and other decorations, and they eat hair algae, and they keep your substrate clean! Oh, they don’t eat plants! Perfectly suitable for planted tanks!

Nerite Snails are the best snails in the aquarium hobby for eating algae! They are completely safe with all fish species, shrimps, or plants, and are completely peaceful. Nerite Snails require salt water to reproduce, so they will never overpopulate your aquarium (as some freshwater snails are known to do).

The Red Racer Nerite Snail has a highly variable shell appearance. Its many possible patterns are all among the most attractive of any ornamental freshwater or even marine snail! These shell patterns are extremely variable, so not all patterns are photographed as it would be nearly impossible to do so! Colors vary depending on age and foods offered, but they are all awesome! It can live for upwards of 4 to 5 years, Comfortably stock at least 1 per gallon with no issues. Have fun!
