Native to Asia, the Water Onion Aquarium Plant, or Common Water Onion, is a very easy aquatic plant to grow and maintain, and is great for any aquarium tank, but in particular, African Cichlid tanks. If you do decide to purchase the Common Water Onion, know that you’re adding an endangered species to your aquarium tank. The Water Onion is now on the endangered list in its native lands. The only true ones left are either from private tanks in the US or leftover collections. Get them while they are still in supply. Requirements for this tank plant include low to high lighting.
