Description
aka: Sulawesi Fan Shrimp, Lake Poso Blue Shrimp, Pink Boxer Shrimp
The species name longidigita means “long fingers” and is derived from Latin longus which means ‘long’ and digitus meaning ‘finger’. This refers to the unusually long setae that gives the chelae the appearance of brush-like fans. They will constantly filter water for food with their tiny fans.
Caridina longidigita is a lacustrine species native to Lake Poso, Sulawesi, Indonesia.
