The Brown Ghost Knife fish is a real one-of-a-kind type of fish and will add instant appeal to your fishtank Ghost knife fish can swim forwards, backwards, sideways, upside-down and pretty much any other angle and are fascinating to watch. These are mildly or weakly electric fish. They can grow quite large up to 11.5″ (30cm) if kept in a large tank and are well looked after, but there are documented specimens that have grown to 2′ (60cm) and can live over 7 years given the right conditions.
They prefer live foods like blackworms, but freeze dried bloodworms, Brine Shrimp, and small feeder fish such as live bearing fish like guppies, mollies, platys, swordtails. Can be trained to eat regular flakes or pellets, peas, earthworms and frozen community fish foods. Ghost knifes like to have a place to hide, but are very active and can be spotted at almost any time of the day, they do like a heavily planted Aquarium as this gives options for hiding and they will cohabit happily with a wide variety of other peaceful aquarium fish.
