The Penguin Tetra is an awesome schooling fish that originates from rivers of South America and makes a wonderful addition to any community aquarium! They are pale to golden in color and have a black vertical stripe that extends down the bottom half of the tail. These markings are of course similar to those of the penguins everyone knows. Penguin Tetras can be housed in a peaceful community aquarium with no difficulty in their care as they are simple to keep. Penguin Tetras are a schooling fish that work well in groups of at least 6 or more. Live plants are always a must for the success of this fish, along with rocks and driftwood that will help to enhance the natural habitat and provide hiding spaces.
