The Snakeskin Gourami, also known as Trichogaster pectoralis, will thrive in an aquarium that has plenty of live plants, fake plants and driftwood to use as cover. This fish can easily consume most prepared foods, and will also need a vegetable base for their diet. Like the rest of the omnivore Labyrinth fish, they will also need access to the surface of your aquarium to breathe.
For breeding purposes, you will need a fairly large tank if you plan to increase your population of these fish. Both the fish and its spawns are unusually large. They also can spawn in large numbers, which is why they would be great for a community aquarium. When they are shipped, they are about 2” unless jumbo sized.
Minimum purchase amount is 2 fish, but we recommend buying more.
