Rainbowfish are a beautiful exotic fish that is found native in Australia & New Guinea. Rainbowfishes are peaceful, hardy, and not very demanding. Rainbowfish accept most foods and rarely get sick unless they get in too cold of waters. They spawn year round in their natural environment and will breed in captivity in a well established community aquarium. Rainbowfish are not as beautiful as juveniles, but as they grow larger through the years these fish will pop with their true adult coloration. It is best to keep Rainbowfish in schools, nothing less than ideally 8 to 10 rainbows with a roomy environment along with some roots, rocks & wood will be best. You will enjoy a remarkable show tank with these fish!
Many Australian freshwater fish species have evolved to survive under a a very large range of environmental conditions. Aquarists can easily use Rainbowfish as a fine community fish that will adapt well to most any aquarium!
