You need to have girls and boys to make a colony and keep everyone happy. Not pairs. This tank-raised fish is very hardy and adaptable, requiring clean, well-maintained water to thrive. It will display optimal coloration and best overall health when installed in a heavily planted aquarium, especially where floating plants are present such as Tiger Lotus, Frogbit, Water Sprite, Cabomba & Hornwort. As long as it has plenty of cover, it is an extremely outgoing species. It is very easy to breed in the aquarium.
