Description
Although most consider it an omnivore, the Gold Barb will eat everything from flake and pellets to mosquito larve, daphnia and even brine shrimp. This sleek fish is obviously gold colored, with minute dark patches. When the fish matures, it develops a beautiful redish-orange fin. Owners should put Gold Barbs in smaller tanks, and rest assured that this fish will get along fine with the majority of tank mates, as it is a peaceful fish. Just be sure to keep it in groups of 6, at the very least.
