Description
moonlight gourami or moonbeam gourami, Trichogaster microlepis
The Moonlight or Moonshine Gourami is another peaceful, and non-demanding fish. Also known as Trichogaster microlepis, these fish have origins in both Asia and Colombia. They can grow up to 6” in length if raised in a pond or larger aquarium, tpically about 3″ in a typical aquarium. These fish do not reach their full color potential until adulthood, featuring colors of silver, subtle greens, and gold.
These fish are also very easy to keep, and might be especially good for the beginner. It’s better to keep these fish in a community, as they do best in larger groups.
